America First Healthcare is an independent insurance agency headquartered in Orlando, Florida. We help individuals, families and small businesses compare health insurance, life insurance and Medicare options from the carriers we are appointed with, and we do it through one scheduled, free, 15-minute review with one licensed advisor. We are not an insurance company. Plans are offered and underwritten by third-party carriers, who set their own rates and terms, and no coverage is bound until a carrier issues a policy.
Here is what you can verify without taking our word for it.
We are not the Health Insurance Marketplace, not a government program, and not connected to any of the similarly named companies listed on our not affiliated page.
America First Healthcare was founded by Jordan Sarmiento, who is the company's CEO. He started it after walking out of a six-day hospital stay with a bill near $95,000. His own account of why the company exists is on the CEO page. The company is an independent insurance agency. It is not an insurance carrier.
Strictly speaking, no doctor accepts America First Healthcare, because we are an agency and not an insurer. What a doctor accepts is the carrier's plan and network named on your ID card. The carrier runs the network, decides who is in it, and publishes the directory.
To check a doctor before you choose a plan:
Bring your doctors' names to the review and ask for the network check before you decide. If a plan would take a doctor away from you, that should be said out loud, not discovered later.
We do not set insurance prices. Premiums are set by the carriers that issue coverage, which is why there is no price list on this site and why anyone quoting you a monthly figure for "America First Healthcare" without looking at your household is guessing.
The things that move a premium are the ones carriers are allowed to price on: your age, where you live, whether you use tobacco, how many people are covered, and the level of coverage you select. HealthCare.gov explains how insurance companies set premiums. Plans sold outside the Marketplace can also price on medical history; Marketplace plans cannot charge more for a pre-existing condition.
